All those who walk in a leadership role with The Academy have consistently demonstrated certain key beliefs that The Academy deems to be integral in providing excellent, ethical healthcare. The Academy leaders have pledged to implement these beliefs in everything they do to represent the Academy.

  • Every person should be treated with dignity.
  • The medical establishment does not own a person’s health. Instead, each person should control and be responsible for their own health and wellness.
  • What is known today about the human mind, body, and spirit is infinitesimally small.
  • Because there are many diagnostic and therapeutic tools in the integrative practitioner’s toolbox, there are many roads to health for the ill person using integrative medicine.
  • Unconditional love heals.
  • The body is designed to heal itself. The health professional’s job is to assist the body in that healing process.

In 1996 I moved to Panama, where I found that I was unable to practice law until I was admitted to the bar here.  This required a further 3 years of law school in Panama. In November 2001, I completed my studies at ULACIT, graduating LL.B. cum laude, and was admitted before the Supreme Court of Panama in November 2001.  Admitted November 26, 2001. W. Lee Cowden, MD, MD(H), Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board

Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board and Academy Professor, Dr. Lee Cowden is a USA board-certified cardiologist and internist who is internationally known for his knowledge and skill in practicing and teaching integrative medicine. He has co-authored many books and articles on integrative medicine and has pioneered successful treatments of cancer, autism, Lyme disease and many other illnesses.
