Synopsis:  Taking a thorough history is a critical component of a high quality integrative medicine approach to accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of patients presenting to your practice with health challenges. Of great importance is learning how to interview a patient to gain helpful information about all their symptoms including the specific characteristics. These also include learning about factors that might be contributing to exacerbations and those factors that might be ameliorating their symptoms. I detailed history that includes these elements makes an accurate diagnosis much more likely not just in terms of the particular disease but also in terms of discovering contributing and ameliorating factors that makes effective treatment strategies easier to discern and improved health easier to achieve.
