Description

In 2003, patients with advanced Stage 3 Lyme Disease who had failed antibiotic therapy were entered into a pilot research study in Dallas, Texas. The 13 patients in the integrative treatment group were treated with a comprehensive program of dietary change, lymph drainage, antimicrobial herbs, detox herbs, homeopathics, enzymes and other nutrients. The 14 patients in the control group were treated by a Lyme-literate allopathic medical doctor in Dallas using the best allopathic therapies available. By the tenth week of the study, there was marked improvement in all patients in the integrative treatment group, and even further improvement by the 18th week of the study. There was insignificant improvement in the control group. Dr. Cowden continued to perfect the integrative treatment program for Lyme disease and in 2007, Richard Horowitz, MD in New York State placed 400 advanced Lyme patients who had failed antibiotic therapy on the empiric Cowden Program with 70% of them improving markedly in 6 months. Dr. Cowden will discuss in this webinar more details of the integrative Lyme treatment program and the developments & research since 2007.In 2003, patients with advanced Stage 3 Lyme Disease who had failed antibiotic therapy were entered into a pilot research study in Dallas, Texas.
